Ask500: Annoy The World With Your Stupid Questions Instead of Your Friends
Ask500People is a cool site I came across this week. The premise is pretty simple, submit a question with a multiple choice answer and it will keep a poll open for you until 500 people have answered.
Sounds like an easy concept but they seem to be succeeding based on how quickly the polls get answered. I don’t know if it’s their use of the google maps API, Ajax or geo-locating but whatever extra oomph they’ve included seems to have attracted a significant audience interested in answering questions like “Which of these logo mockups is better?”, “Do these pants make my ass look fat” and “Does this growth look like cancer?”
Thanks to Ask500 I now know that when it comes to sex 10% of us are screamers, a whopping 58% are less enthusiastic moaners and a paltry 32% are “quiet like a dead monkey.” Also interesting since you can see the answers based on geographic location, the North Americans seem to be the moaners and those people living in politically repressed areas tend to keep quiet even when they’re “playing cars and garages”.
